A passion for art and the story behind.

Cygotec is a digital creator (digital artwork, design, photo, animation, sound designer, music composer) and web developer (professional work) hailing from western Norway. Previously known as icotec, FreeZ, Neural Net and other aliases. In 2020 I took on a new artist name; Cygotec. I had way too many ideas on too many projects and too little time, so I decided to merge them all into one.

This alias is a juxtaposition of a former artist name and a track on the 1996 album icotec - Black Planet - called Cyga. This name in turn became the “remote” place that I base all my new artworks on. Cyga is an imaginary place far away, somewhere in the outer rims of the Sombrero Galaxy.

Artworks

Most of my work is based on a futuristic, science fiction/fact based theme. They are developed using several techniques, and most have a random/chaotic nature and hardly any symmetrical features. Much of my work revolves around chaos, randomness, glass, metal and hard surfaces. The surreal aspect is highly present in everthing I do, and each of these works tell a story with a deeper meaning, borderlining with philosophic and quantumphysical aspects.

Let's imagine that matter is just frequency like in the string theory, and the light it generates decides what is perceived by our minds. The two above mentioned aspects is the kind of surreal imaging I’m trying to reflect in my works. The less real it looks, the better. In game development making things look as real as possible is central. My work should reflect the complete opposite of that.
